About InBraille
InBraille is an innovative Brazilian tool that converts texts to Braille and exports them in both ASCII format and STL plates for 3D printing.
With this solution, it is possible to expand accessibility and inclusion, allowing anyone to create tactile materials for people with visual impairments.
In addition to being an accessible and easy-to-use technology, this project has a significant social impact, enabling the production of texts, labels, informational plates, and educational materials in Braille in an accessible and personalized way.
Whether for educational, professional, or everyday purposes, this tool aims to make information truly universal. The goal is to democratize access to Braille through maker culture and 3D printing, providing autonomy and independence for those in need.
Neurodiversity in Technology
This tool was developed by Lucas Guerra, a autistic student and developer who transformed his unique perspective into inclusive technological solutions. Autism brought a different approach to the creation of this project, with intense focus on details and patterns that resulted in a more accessible and intuitive tool.
This solution is the result of the 3D Technology and Inclusive Laboratory of the Computer Department at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), which promotes inclusion and accessibility through technology. The laboratory is a research and development space that seeks to create innovative solutions for people with disabilities, using 3D printing and other assistive technologies.
